The Commodore Joshua Barney House
is a brick, Federal style home on 6+ acres
backing to the Little Patuxent River.
It is centrally located in Howard County, Maryland,
between Baltimore and Washington, DC,
in the small, historic, old mill town of Savage.
BWI Airport is less than a 15 minute drive.
The local Metro Rail Station serving the nation's capitol
is only 5 minutes away.

There is direct access from the rear of the property to the Little Patuxent River.
The hiking trail, along the river, may also be used for biking.


Common Room on Bedroom Level

Gracious (home away from home) hospitality is the hallmark at the COMMODORE JOSHUA BARNEY HOUSE.  Guest accommodations were designed with your comfort in mind - memory foam mattresses, down comforters, luxury linens, abundant pillows, generous bath towels, Robes, alarm clock, CD player, hair dryers, iron/ironing board, high speed internet connection, cable TV and many other amenities.  If you've forgotten something, we can almost always provide it!  Each delightful room enjoys multiple windows with grand views, excellent lighting, oriental rugs, original art, coordinated accessories and seating area.  Our guests have access to our well stocked library, games and use of VHS/DVD player. 

The house has been restored and a new wing added.  Renovations included a sprinkler system, with interlocked smoke detectors, and multiple hot water heaters-- the house has terrific water pressure!  Bathrooms, a library, porches, a country kitchen, fireplaces, and crown moldings were also added.  The house is centrally air-conditioned.

A Common Room (on the bedroom level) is a favorite, intimate hospitality area where guests can enjoy "anytime" coffee, bottled water, beverages and snacks.  It is a delightful spot to enjoy games and puzzles.   Breakfast is often served in the Common Room.

Cancellation Policies

* Room/suite deposits are refundable, less a $25 handling fee, if cancellation is made and confirmed more than 10 days prior to scheduled arrival.
* If cancellations are made less than 10 days prior to scheduled arrival, deposit is refundable (less handling fee) only if the room is re-booked.
* Extended Stay Apartment deposits are refundable only if the apartment is re-booked for the term.
* Holiday and special event reservations are paid in advance and are not refundable.

Directions

From Interstate Route I-95, Exit onto Route 32 East.

* Take the first exit onto Route 1 South toward Savage.
* Take the next right onto Howard Street which becomes Baltimore Street as you bear left.
* Proceed several blocks and turn right onto Savage Guilford Road.
* Go approx ½ mile to stop sign. Proceed across Vollmerhausen Road and continue approx ½ mile
to the Commodore Joshua Barney House at 7912 Savage Guilford Road on the left.
